Flight Transport Nurse:
Assesses patient, provides general patient care, and supervises flight paramedics in the air transport and care of critically ill or wounded patients.
Assesses needs and provides patient care for air transport patients from the accident scene to the hospital. Supervises paramedics in the air transport and care of critically ill or wounded patients. This position requires graduation from an accredited school of nursing as a Registered Nurse, current state licensure and four years of patient care experience as a Registered Nurse. Provides nursing care adapted to individual patient needs based on the nursing process, which includes assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques. Observes patient, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies emergency room of patient's condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents.
