Fundraising Manager: Manages, plans, and coordinates fundraising programs for charities or other causes. Develops and implements policies and objectives of fundraising function in accordance with objectives of group or organization, as part of a team. Identifies and implements donor cultivation and solicitation strategies while working closely with volunteers, staff, and management. Develops and manages relationships with new and existing foundations, corporations, and community organizations. Researches individual giving opportunities, and schedules one-on-one visits with prospects and donors. Promotes goodwill and generates public awareness for group or organization.
Recruits, trains, and motivates volunteers to perform certain duties to assist in fundraising. Recruits, hires, trains, and motivates permanent paid staff. Plans and oversees special donor recognition activities. Accepts pledges or funds from contributors and writes letter to express appreciation for donation. Records expenses incurred and contributions received. Ensures that all fundraising practices comply with accounting standards, State and Federal codes, and established group or organization policies and procedures. Assists in preparation of annual budget by providing data and making recommendations. May prepare fundraising brochures for mail-solicitation programs. May provide leadership for relevant market research in region. May speak at meetings about services available. May prepare applications for grants.
