Project Controls Engineer:
Develops and implements standard cost and schedule programs, processes, and practices on specific projects. Develops the overall status reporting on the financial aspects and the schedules associated with these projects. Utilizes knowledge of scope coordination and analysis, work package review, project schedule development, cost engineering, critical path analysis, contractor coordination and management, accountancy principals, practices, and concepts, integrated cost and scheduling, budget development, cost accounting and forecasting, variance analysis, performance reporting, contingency planning, root cause analysis, and contract commercial provisions and interpretations.
Performs routine aspects of assigned projects following established procedures. Maintains familiarity with techniques, procedures, methods, and the nature of the applicable engineering system. Maintains project ledgers showing budget line items, commitments, expenditures, and forecasts. Ensures that cost data is entered correctly and consistently into the cost systems. Identifies trends and deviations in cost performance against budget alerting Project Management to potential problem areas. Ensures the integrity of the project budget through approved scope changes, fiscal changes, and contingency reallocations. Verifies invoices and their correct holdback, coding, and allocation. Verifies overhead charges and their distribution. Prepares project forecasts, cost projections, cost tracking graphs, and cash flow forecasts as required by Project Management. Issues project cost reports including forecast final costs and variances. Flags significant projected overruns or underruns. Ensures final payments of hold back on all contracts and closing of accounts upon project completion. (Source: eDOT Job Description)
