Provides technical direction and guidance to professional and/or sub-professional personnel. Directs and oversees any combination of design, planning, specification writing, plan review, or inspection activities necessary for the completion of projects. Assigns work, gives instructions, and resolves difficult engineering problems. Directs and supervises the activities of engineering personnel in analyzing field data and preparing plans, profiles, maps, and/or related drawings necessary for assigned projects. Provides technical information to officials of governmental jurisdictions, other engineers, and the public. Interacts with public utility companies as needed. Supervises the preparation and maintenance of records pertaining to job expenditures, budget programs, work order balances, requests for change orders, progress pay, and final estimates on contracts.
