Environmental Planner:
Collaborates with technical experts on a variety of National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and specific State environmental quality acts, policies, or practices-related documents for organizations involved in urban in-fill, transit oriented development, transportation and public works, water resources, power projects, etc., that will improve the quality of life in a specific state or area. Prepares and manages environmental documents. Assumes responsibility for due diligence studies, opportunities and constraint analysis and supporting technical studies, public outreach and presentations to public entities, as well as project organization and submittals and coordination with sub consultants. Works out compliance and permitting and ensures environmental compliance and safety.
Works on a full range of environmental planning services, including resource assessments and management plans, environmental impact statements, environmental assessments, categorical exclusions, and environmental overviews. Scopes critical issues and at-risk resources, clearly defines a project's purpose and need, identifies and evaluates a feasible range of alternatives, discloses potential impacts, provides adequate and reasonable mitigation measures, and participates with the public in decision-making processes. Prepares all levels of NEPA studies, and natural, social, and cultural resource planning documents.
