Provides rehabilitative counseling and vocational rehabilitative services designed to help disabled individuals achieve a productive role in the community and reach independent living goals.

Provides rehabilitative counseling and vocational rehabilitative services designed to help disabled individuals achieve a productive role in the community and reach independent living goals. Interviews and evaluates disabled individuals, and confers with medical and professional personnel to determine type and degree of disability, eligibility for service, and feasibility of vocational rehabilitation. Implements and coordinates services for vocational rehabilitation patients. Determines suitable job or business consistent with applicant's interests, aptitudes, and physical, mental, and emotional limitations. Assists rehabilitation patient with personal adjustment throughout rehabilitation program. Aids applicant in obtaining medical and social services during training. Advises clients about education and training opportunities, careers, and job-finding skills. Promotes and develops job openings and places qualified applicant in an appropriate employment setting. Monitors progress, satisfaction and concerns in employment. Communicates with employers, vocational funding agencies and other agencies. This position typically requires a Master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling. Documents services delivered, prepares clinical summaries, and maintains reports and case histories.
