Supervisors may report to this position or, in smaller organizations, employees may report directly to the manager.
Contacts interested parties to present aims and ideals of organization. Compiles and analyzes information about potential members and to plan selling approach. Contacts prospective member groups to explain requirements and benefits of membership. Promotes goodwill. Writes, telephones, or visits prospective members and persuades them to become members by explaining purpose and benefits of membership. Prepares or assists in preparation of annual budget by providing data and making recommendations. May speak to members at meetings about services available. Records expenses incurred. May write letters to express appreciation for becoming a member. May organize volunteers and plan social functions to raise membership.
