Upon completion of medical school and internship, performs a combination of supervised, progressively more complex and independent patient evaluation, management and research activities in a specialized field of medicine.
Takes medical history of patient and makes physical assessment of patient’s condition. Makes notations regarding medical treatment in the patient medical record. Administers prescribed medications and medical treatments in accordance with approved medical techniques. Applies cost containment measures in the provision of patient care. Participates in the educational activities of the training program and may assume responsibility for teaching and supervising other residents, interns and students. Participates in research activities as required by the residency program. Participates in institutional committees and councils as assigned. Maintains required certification and licensure as required by the program. This position requires completion of medical school as a M.
