Supervises and coordinates the daily operations of the Pharmacy Department in the areas of staff supervision, maintenance of clinical programs, effective intra- and inter-departmental communication, workload assignment, and proper allocation of pharmacy resources to deliver quality patient care. Assists the Pharmacy Manager with planning and directing the activities of the Pharmacy Department in addition to performing all the duties of a Pharmacist.
Monitors daily operations to ensure achievement of department quality and service objectives. Assists in the department planning and management of appropriate staffing levels, work flow, and problem resolution. Coordinates work plans and activities with department supervisors and manager. Assures the timely and accurate preparation and distribution of pharmaceutical products and completion of the department's clinical function. Participates in the quality improvement process. Ensures that patient therapy is consistent with current medical practice, FDA and drug manufacturers' recommendations, current literature, and/or other information sources. Assists in the implementation, management, and maintenance of pharmacy-related software products. Monitors the systems for data quality, efficiency and operation, and data integrity.
