Clinical Research Coordinator:
Coordinates and participates in clinical research studies by performing a variety of complex activities involved in the collection, compilation, documentation, and analysis of clinical research data. Assists in the determination of guidelines for the collection of clinical data or administration of clinical studies. Coordinates and implements procedures for data collection from patient charts, medical records, interviews, questionnaires, diagnostic tests and other sources. Typically requires a college degree in health sciences and three years of clinical or research experience.

Codes, evaluates, and interprets collected data and prepares appropriate documentation. Obtains blood samples, cultures, tissues, and other specimens for laboratory analysis. Ensures compliance with protocol guidelines and requirements of regulatory agencies. Educates staff members regarding study design and time lines. Evaluates and interprets collected clinical data in conjunction with the principal researcher. Coordinates preparation of manuscripts for publication. Assists in the preparation of amendments to protocols or modifications to study design, as appropriate. Coordinates the development of forms, questionnaires, and the application of research techniques. Reviews journals, abstracts, and scientific literature to remain abreast of new developments.
