Performs clerical duties and routine library assignments related to the ordering, receiving, cataloging, circulating and maintenance of medical library materials such as books, reports, periodicals, serials, abstracts, medical journals, indexes, manuscripts, slides and microfilm.
Prepares, posts, searches, verifies, files, and maintains a variety of manual and electronic records needed to order, receive, and circulate medical library materials. Issues, displays, renews and receives returned materials. Inspects returned item for damage.
Sorts books, publications, and other items according to classification code and returns them to shelves, files, or other designated storage area. Assist users in the use of library materials and facilities. Locates books and publications for library users. Performs routine library assignments involved in searching records for catalog copy, preparing bibliographies and book lists, and maintaining card catalogs and book shelves. Maintains files. Repairs books and places plastic covers on new books.
