Nursing Director:
Manages or
aids in directing activities of nursing staff and activities in nursing services, such as obstetrics, pediatrics, or surgery, or for two or more patient-care units, to ensure patient needs are met in accordance with instructions of physician and hospital administrative procedures.
Coordinates activities with other patient care units. This is the second highest level position in nursing services. Requires RN license along with clinical and supervisory experience.
Consults with Top Nursing Executive on nursing problems and interpretation of hospital policies to ensure patient needs are met.
