Ensures the adequacy of the accounting system as the basis for reporting to management. Considers the need for new or changed controls. Projects accounting data to show the effects of proposed plans on capital investments, income, cash position, and overall financial condition. Interprets the meaning of accounting records, reports, and statements. Advises operating officials on accounting matters Excludes paraprofessional accountants. Recommends improvements, adaptations, or revisions in the accounting system and procedures. Applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports. Maintains appropriate records of dispensing and oversees and maintains the systems that charge or credit for medications and medication treatments. Supervises pharmacy workers who assist in mixing, packaging, labeling and dispensing pharmaceuticals. Answers questions and provides information to pharmacy customers on drug interactions, side effects, dosage and storage of pharmaceuticals. Maintains established procedures concerning quality assurance, security of controlled substances, and disposal of hazardous waste drugs. Provides drug information and educates caregivers and patients regarding medications and their proper use and monitoring.
