Assigns and directs the activities of maintenance personnel in a machine shop. Oversees the maintaining, repairing, and rebuilding of various production machines and equipment. Ensures staffing and equipment levels match business activity levels. Assigns jobs according to priorities to maintain scheduled completion dates. Assists in the troubleshooting and repair of equipment. Ensures the work assignment schedule is being achieved and provides directions in overcoming obstacles. Maintains complete, accurate, and up-to-date records of all maintenance activity, including routine and preventative maintenance and unscheduled repairs. Establishes and documents policies and procedures for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of equipment. Promotes, maintains, and enforces safe and healthy working conditions for all employees in accordance with legislative requirements and company standards. Ensures equipment is safe in order to produce expected quality and quantity of product. Coordinates the maintenance program, including reviewing, selecting, evaluating, and communicating with contract services for repair services not performed in house and other vendors to ensure services are cost effective and meet quality standards.
