Researches assigned fraud claims submitted by credit card members. Analyzes client accounts and transactions, notices potential fraud situations and identifies fraud trends and patterns. Studies possible recovery opportunities in order to reduce losses. Performs individual tasks in assigned case while working within a team environment to meet the established goals of the unit. Interviews individuals involved in fraud cases. Makes inbound and outbound calls to verify transactions and take appropriate action. Communicates to management any complex and unique situations that need immediate attention. Performs chargebacks and related functions. Collaborates with merchants and reviews activity with cardholders to identify save opportunities. Adheres to credit card companies' rules and regulations regarding processing transactions. Assumes responsibility for the card member's return of the Declaration of Unauthorized Transactions (DUT). Ensures that accounts are credited properly for all charges and that the proper balances are on the appropriate accounts. Enters case details into the case management system. Prepares Suspicious Activity Reports (SAR) related to fraud claims being reviewed. Prepares fraud investigative reports for presentation to law enforcement agencies for criminal prosecution. Networks with Fraud Units from other financial institutions regarding fraud trends and to gather intelligence information related to domestic or global fraud issues.
