An Early Retirement Assessment Report Social Security DI Does Not Mean "Disabled" US Social Security Administration (SSA) offers "underemployment insurance" where the Disability Determination Process (DDP) creates Alternative Jobs for one's background and experience. This Report examines the potential that alternative jobs might not exist for you or if they do, they might not exist in sufficient numbers. (Alternative jobs are derived from PAQ's eDOT and job statistics, by area and industry, are provided by ERI's Job Availability Survey.) Assuming your application survives the first three steps of the SSA DDP: |
| The Process Steps This report models the possible outcomes from the last (Steps IV and V) of the SSDI DDP. Step IV: Considering the individual's residual functional capacities (RFC) and the physical and mental demands of the work the individual has done in the past, does his or her impairment(s) prevent him or her from doing past relevant work and if so, what alternative jobs might still be handled? Step V: Considering the individual's RFC, age, education, and work experience, does his or her impairment(s) prevent the individual from adjusting to other work? This is a practical question: Do the alternative jobs that exist that one can perform based on their job content (lower work demands) exist and if such jobs can be defined and described do they exist in sufficient numbers in the economy? The end result of the Early Retirement Assessment Report is the understanding of the potential one might have to successfully seek early retirement under the SSA Disability Insurance program and step by step suggestions on how to start the claims process. | Allow time for the PAQ fileservers to search the work content data found in the PAQ eDOT Skills Project, check the ERI Job Availability Survey made available by ERI Economic Research Institute, and calculate alternative job (if any) statistics. All data need to be checked for reasonableness by a user, the best way being initializing the claims process, an avenue that is available to all who are eligible under Social Security, have met the 12 month unemployment and other qualifications, and believe they have lessened capabilities. | |
