View Salary Report
Once you have successfully selected
a job title and selected
an area, click the Get Report button. The data for the selected
position and area will be displayed. This data includes:
Report Summary
Reports the average salary as well as the salary range of half of those employed
in the specified position/area (those salaries which fall between the 17th and
67th percentiles.) It also lists the average total compensation for the specified
position/area (base salary + benefits & bonuses.)
Additional SalaryExpert Reports
Links to additional SalaryExpert® reports,
which will create a more personalized salary report drawn from dozens of additional
"variables".
Graph & Table Summary
A graphical and tabular view shows the position's low-average-high salaries
for the selected area as well as the position's "national average" low-average-high
salaries. This "national average" is the common salary for the selected
position in the the selected area. Included in this summary
is the renter's cost-of-living for both the selected area and the national norm.
This cost-of-living reflects the demand and supply of goods and services in the
area as opposed to the salary, which reflects the demand and supply of labor.
Online Job Boards
Lists online resources, including job boards, that may be of assistance in finding
openings for the position selected and/or be helpful in determining what salaries
are being offered for positions in the current marketplace.
Position Description
Provides a description of the selected position allowing greater certainty
in selecting the right job title for your salary report. When searching for salary
information, it is more important to match the job description for the position
you are searching for than it is to match the job title exactly.
If you are unable to find an exact job title, search for job titles with similar
key words and compare the position description for each likely match against the
description of the job you are looking for.
For example, "Secretary III" is a job title used by some organizations
that is not in the SalaryExpert® list. However,
if you look at the job descriptions for "Secretary to EVP" or "Secretary
to CEO" or "Executive Secretary" you may find a close
match.
