Manages and coordinates the operations and activities of staff and payroll systems at one or more international location. Develops and implements appropriate internal controls, strategies to support payroll operations, and segregation of duties. Supports and works closely with Human Resources, Benefits, external services providers, Corporate Tax, and other payroll managers to streamline and develop processes that ensure seamless expatriate assignments and efficient local payroll processes. Develops and maintains policies and procedures related to the Payroll department. Develops and implements a regional or global vendor strategy to support payroll operations in all potential countries. Works with local Payroll Managers to ensure that payroll is set up with proper local requirements and internal controls. Solves human resource and benefit issues related to the International payroll process. Manages the payroll function of processing timecards, compiling payroll statistics, maintaining payroll control records, recording hours of work, and calculating payrolls. Develops and implements methods and procedures for monitoring work activities, such as preparation of records of expenditures, progress reports, etc., in order to inform management of current status or work activities. Analyzes department budget to identify budget needs and/or reductions, and may allocate operating budgets funds. Interprets company policy to employees and enforces safety regulations.
