Job Description:
Teaches and demonstrates patient care in classroom and clinical units of hospital to nursing students and nursing personnel, and educates them in principles and application and improved methods of physical, biological, and psychological subjects related to nursing. Lectures students, conducts and supervises laboratory work, assigns lessons, and directs seminars and panels. Supervises student nurses and demonstrates patient care in clinical units of hospital. Requires an RN license in addition to experience and/or additional training.: Prepares and administers examinations, evaluates student progress, and maintains records of student classroom and clinical experience. Participates in planning curriculum, teaching schedule, and course outline. Cooperates with medical and nursing personnel in evaluating and improving teaching and nursing practices. Develops, directs, and coordinates in-service orientation and continued education programs for nursing personnel. Conducts training programs for staff development and in improved methods of nursing services and procedures. Gives refresher training as needed. May specialize in specific subject, such as anatomy, chemistry, psychology, or nutrition, or in type of nursing activity, such as nursing of medical or surgical patients.
