Repairs, inspects, tests, and adjusts mechanical parts of machines and construction equipment and replaces malfunctioning parts, using hand tools, portable power tools, precision measuring instruments, and testing equipment.: Opens equipment for testing. Observes instruments to determine that factors meet specifications. Performs functional test of systems for conformance to specifications. Calibrates compasses and other equipment.
