Job Description: Manages and administers materials management functions, such as the planning, procurement, storage, inventory control, and distribution of materials and products to meet company objectives and customer requirements. >Oversees the flow of materials, parts, and assemblies within or between departments in accordance with production and shipping schedules or department priorities. Assures that maintenance of the inventory control system is accurate.: Develops policies and procedures to ensure timely flow of materials and for tracking the physical inventory. Coordinates requisition of material with purchasing department and establishes delivery sequences to departments according to job order priorities and anticipated availability of material. Arranges for in-plant transfer of materials to meet production schedules. Arranges transportation of required materials with department supervisors for delivery to various departments. Examines material delivered to the production departments to verify it is the type specified. Investigates and solves problems resulting from material shortages.
