Job Description:
Supervises auditors conducting independent protective and constructive audits to verify effectiveness of controls, financial records, and operating procedures. Suggests methods to be followed in conducting audits, and recommends activities to be examined, the extent of the examination, and establishes completion schedules. Reviews auditor's work for adequacy, method, and procedures. A combination of over four years of directly related training and/or experience is typically required for carrying out the responsibilities for this job. This position typically reports to a manager and is the first level of supervision in the organization.: Examines records of departments to ensure proper recording of transactions and compliance with applicable laws. Inspects accounting systems to determine their efficiency and protective value. Reviews records pertaining to material assets, such as equipment, buildings, or manpower, to determine degree to which they are utilized. Reviews data obtained for evidence of mismanagement, waste, deficiencies in controls, duplication of effort, extravagance, fraud, or lack of compliance with management's established policies or procedures.
